A Trophy, a Top Gold and a stylish new look for Wicks Estate

15 FEBRUARY 2019

The Wicks family, from the cool climate Adelaide Hills, has been in celebratory mode this Spring picking up a top gold and a trophy at two of the top Australian wine shows. In October, the 2013 Wicks Estate Pamela Sparkling was crowned Best Sparkling Wine in Show at the 2019 Royal Adelaide Wine Show and in a matter of weeks, the 2019 Wicks Estate Sauvignon Blanc was awarded a Top Gold at the 2019 Royal Melbourne Wine Show.

The news comes as the family are busy unveiling an elegant new look for their Estate Range – a look that better reflects the high calibre of the wine in the bottle and appeals to its fashion forward target market.

In October last year, two of Wicks Estate’s popular Estate Range enjoyed an early-reveal at the 2018 Adelaide Fashion Festival; an event Wicks Estate are proud to have partnered with for the past 11 years. The Wicks Estate Sparkling and Wicks Estate Rose were both revealed to a fashion-savvy crowd who hailed the new look.

As winter rolled in, the new look was extended to its red wines and now, in time for Summer, Wicks Estate is pleased to unveil its entire collection.

Simon Wicks of Wicks Estate is thrilled with the news;

“These wins couldn’t come at a better time. We’ve been preparing to release the new look for our Estate Range and while we know the wine in the bottle tastes as good as the pack looks, we now have confirmation from some of the best wine pallets in Australia, which gives us even greater confidence to take it to the customer”.

Making up the top picks for summer are; the 2019 Wicks Estate Sparkling, Sauvignon Blanc and Rose, all grown and crafted by winemaker Leigh Ratzmer on Wicks Estate’s Adelaide Hills property.

2019 Wicks Estate Sparkling

Fashioned with vibrant fruit and sparkling purity, this early release style vintage sparkling is a blend of estate grown Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. A layering of complexity achieved through secondary fermentation provides delightful distraction from the crisp apple Chardonnay and gentile Strawberry notes from the Pinot Noir.

2019 Wicks Estate Sauvignon Blanc – TOP GOLD at the 2019 Royal Melbourne Wine Show

The most popular wine in the Wicks Estate stable, the 2019 Sauvignon Blanc drinks best whilst young and full of fruit intensity. Aromas of tropical fruits and attractive varietal flavours are balanced by an elegant, lively palate finishing clean and crisp. An excellent example of Adelaide Hills Sauvignon Blanc, and a consistent award winner.

2019 Wicks Estate Rose

This wine was the absolute favourite among Adelaide Fashion Festival attendees. Made from delicate Pinot Noir grapes, the result is wonderfully fragrant and elegantly textured, reflecting pure and vibrant varietal characteristics.

Wicks Estate Sparkling, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling and rose retail for a recommended $20 / bottle. Wicks Estate Chardonnay and all red varietals retail for a recommended $25 / bottle.

Wicks Estate wines are available at all leading liquor merchants around Australia.
